Create & design your own Yahoo store

This great eBook from Andy & Audrey Kerwood was one of the very first books that I downloaded when setting up my internet business. They are still the experts on setting up an online store.

This great book literally provides a step by step guide for idiots. Just as well, when I set up my store I hadn't even signed up for a Yahoo web hosting account yet! Using screen shots and very clear instructions, Andy & Audrey take you through the process of signing up for a Yahoo store, adding your items, even running an online store without evening having any goods to sell (through your own home business in dropshipping)

If you've got a product to sell online or just want to make money online, check out their book "How to create a profitable e-commerce store" at their Online Store Profits site.

Yahoo Web Hosting for your online business

How to set up your online business with Yahoo

There are literally thousands of companies keen to host your new website. If you are not sure how to set up a website, but are looking for a simple way to set it up, try Yahoo Small Business. You can set up a site with them quickly and easily and they also provide the Yahoo Sitebuilder software which is easy to use and included free. They also provide an online store facility with payment via Paypal, if you are going to be selling goods.

Yyou may thought about your website name and have a few ideas of what names you might choose. You'll need to see if that name is available or get some suggestions for other ideas. If what you have chosen is not available, you might consider adding “online” or “home” to the name.

I have found Yahoo to be a reliable company for webhosting. They also provide free software to create a website, you won't need to buy anything to create or publish your site. It all comes as part of the package. Right now, there's a special deal on, so if you just want to register your new domain name - it's just $2.95 for a whole year, or if you want to start a website, it's just $8.95 per month.

Yahoo also supply some really good statistics on who has visited your page and you can download the Weblog Expert to get a detailed breakdown of which pages are most popular and what "keywords" people are typing into the search engines.

For this reason, I'd recommend them to anyone. Not least because my daughter (she's just 18) had her own site up and running within an hour. If she can do it, I know anybody can.
